Work by yourself or as a family team to create your very own shelter using the forest around you (surrounding sticks, branches, vines). Then, learn helpful skills about fire building and tying knots. Explore the flora and fauna surrounding Brantley trail on this ranger led hike. This is an easy to moderate hike along a 1 mile dirt trail. After the hike, learn how to build a fire without matches. Iron Pour: Spring Fling

Red Top Mountain State Park - Acworth, GA
Watch as rangers and volunteers melt iron and pour it into scratch blocks and molds. You can now reserve a scratch block with Eventbrite. Reservations start on Mar. 13th. Please read the description on Eventbrite carefully before reserving a block. Pour begins 6PM. When event reaches capacity, scratch blocks will no longer be sold. $5 parking. 770-975-0055.

We will see what fungi are found in the park and talk about their individual properties. Learn what fungi are edible, what is a deadly look-a-like, and what fungi glows in the dark.
