Join a ranger in this mushroom workshop where you will learn about the different parts of a mushroom, how to ID mushrooms, and common mushrooms you may find in Hard Labor Creek. This ranger-led hike will take visitors along Lake Rutledge on a portion of our Beach Trail, and then up to see one of the only Civilian Conservation Corps Camps left standing in America. Participants will learn about CCC and Hard Labor Creek history. Hike geared toward active participants 8 years old and above. Pre-registration required Parking fee required. 706-557-3001.

Join a ranger to learn how the plants around us have been used historically, both for food and for survival crafts. We're heading into the night to learn about the things we can't normally see. We'll hunt for scorpions by using provided UV flash lights. We will meet at the park office (Trading Post) to walk along an easy/moderate 1 mile trail. Limited to 15 hikers. Bring a flashlight and wear sturdy shoes.
