Join the park staff and Friends of George L Smith State volunteers at the park. Every year the park service designates a day where volunteers can give back to their local state park. Please wear your work clothes, bring your water bottle, and gloves. Scouts and other groups need to call the park office to reserve a project. $5 parking. 478-763-2759.

Annual Sugar Cane Festival

Come to our beautiful middle Georgia park to watch sugar cane being ground. Sample the cane juice and buy syrup to take home. Visitors can also enjoy food vendors, craft vendors, and tour our covered bridge/grist mill. Enjoy canoeing and kayaking in a lake filled with beautiful cypress trees while they start changing into fall colors. $2 plus $5 parking. 478-763-2759.
