Status: Archived Fort Yargo State Park in Winder Georgia has some great habitat for birds including marshland, mixed hardwood Forest, and an expansive open lake. Join us at the Birdberry Trail to participate in the citizen science program The Great Backyard Bird Count, which was launched by Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society.
We will hike the half mile paved trail and collect a count on different bird species. Once we reach the end of the trail we will spend 15 minutes doing a stationary bird count. Park pass required.
We recommend guest sign up for an eBird account so they can record their own data after the program. http://gbbc.birdcount.org/get-started/
