Status: Archived Come celebrate Earth Day on Sapelo Island! Day visitors may join us on beautiful Sapelo Island for a nature hike. We'll visit maritime forest, salt marsh and dune habitats, and finish on Sapelo's pristine Nanny Goat beach. Hike is approximately 2.5 miles over boardwalk, trail and beach.
Pre-registration is required and the cost is $10 per people. Call 912-485-2299 to reserve your spot.
Sapelo Island is accessible by ferry only. Arrive at the Sapelo Island Visitor Center (1766 Landing Road SE, Darien, GA) by 8:30 to purchase a ferry ticket ($15 round trip, cash or check only). Ferry leaves *promptly* at 9:00. Bring water, comfortable shoes, appropriate outdoor clothing, plus a snack.
