Battle of Griswoldville Commemoration (Off-Site Program)

Learn about the hastily planned attempt by Georgia Militia to halt Union General Sherman's March to the Sea in November 1864. See soldier life portrayals and encampments, take a tour of the battlefield, and stay for a memorial service at noon. This event will take place at Griswoldville Battlefield, 30 miles east of Jarrell Plantation.

Griswoldville Battlefield is 10 miles east of Macon via U.S. 80 and Highway 57 towards Gordon on Baker Road. There are signs to direct visitors from U.S. 80.
