Total Eclipse of the Park

Experience this once (maybe twice) in a lifetime event at Vogel. We are in the path of totality, so you will be able to see the sun completely hidden by the moon. Learn how to view the eclipse safely and the science behind the phenomenon. Kids crafts. Parking is limited and gates will close once we reach capacity.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Arts and Crafts
Tables will be set up in the Lake Pavilion. Kids can make their own pinhole camera for $1; color changing bracelet for $2; and make their own eclipse book for free.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Eclipse Know How
Different poster boards and information will be set up at the Lake Pavilion so you can learn more about the eclipse.

10:30 am - 11:30 am: Eclipse Safety
Learn what a solar eclipse is, what time it will happen, and how to be safe when watching it.

12:00 pm - 12:30 pm: What will happen during the eclipse
What is a solar eclipse and what do we expect to see during it.

1:05 pm: Start of Partial Eclipse
The moon will start passing between the earth and the sun. Make sure you have your eclipse glasses! (Glasses sold at the park for $2)

1:15 pm - 2:00 pm: Eclipse Safety
Learn what a solar eclipse is, what time it will happen, and how to be safe when watching it.

2:34 pm - 2:36 pm: Total Solar Eclipse!
The moon will completely cover the sun for almost 2 minutes!
