Banks Lake Canoe Safari

This day trip will feature a trip to nearby Banks Lake National Wildlife Refuge. We will explore this unique ecosystem with a focus on the wildlife that can be found here. Preregistration is required. Ages 12 and up only please. Click event for details.

We will leave the park at 9:00 am to head out to Banks Lake NWR. The refuge is about a 45 minute trip form the park. The park will provide transportation for up to 6 canoes/kayaks and can provide transportation for up to 12 participants.

Our float plan has us on the water by 10:30 am. We will explore the NWR until 1 pm then take out for a late lunch and a walk on the nature trail for anyone interested. We will then return with an arrival at the park of no later than 4 pm. Bring your own lunch and we will provide coolers.

All participants must be able to swim and must be ages 12 and up for safety reasons.

Preregistration is required and can be done in person or over the phone at the parks main office.

Fees are per person. If the park provides equipment fees are $30 per person. If you want to bring your own boat and equipment then you may pay the discounted rate of $15 per person. All participants will be required to wear a personal flotation device while in the canoe/kayak.
