Women's Wilderness Weekend

Venturing into the wilderness for the first time and want to learn the ways of the wild? Or, looking to improve your wilderness knowledge? Join AmeriCorps rangers and like-minded women on a multi-day adventure (May 4-6) to hone your outdoor survival skills. This trip has many opportunities for demonstrations, discussion, practice and questions.

Important Details
• Please arrive between 5pm and 7pm on May 4th to pioneer shelter 3 at Providence Canyon
• Programs will end around 12pm on Sunday May 6th
• To attend you must pre-register

• Fire building

• Leave No Trace
• Sustainable camping practices

Highlights:
• Put your skills to the test with a wilderness obstacle course
• Create your own mini survival kit
• 2 nights of camping
• 24 hr. assistance from AmeriCorps Rangers
What to bring:
• Water- 3 liters
• Day pack
• Food for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus snacks
• Weather appropriate clothes
• Rain gear
*Tents to share will be provided or bring your own
*Sleeping bags provided on first come first served basis
