Meteor Paddle: Lyrids

Witness the Lyrid meteor shower from the depths of the Okefenokee Swamp. We will paddle out to Billy's Lake during the pre-dawn hours of the 22nd to take advantage of the moonless morning and dark sky that will be ideal for meteor viewing. This shower may produce as many as 10-20 meteors per hour.

Must be staying on park in cabin or campsite due to refuge gate closure at 10pm.
Ages 5 to 12 must be accompanied in boat by an adult. No one younger than 5 due to safety reasons.
Sign up in advance.
Spots are limited.
Bring a headlamp. Program will continue with clouds but may be cancelled for foul weather. Must sign a waiver. Must be able to paddle a canoe or kayak independently. Advanced reservations are non-refundable unless program is cancelled.
