Your State Parks Day-Free Admission to Volunteers

Bring the family and bring the friends to help maintain your local park. We are offering free admission and and a t-shirt to volunteers. Projects include: finish clearing the new nature trail, pruning, garden clearing. Bring water, sun protection, bug-spray, closed toed shoes. Free admission includes the Vann House, log-cabin exhibits, and museum.

‘Your State Parks Day’ is a day to reflect on the life-enriching relationship between communities and their local parks. To celebrate, anyone who participates in our outdoor volunteer activities from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on September 28th will receive free site admission and a t-shirt. For ‘State Parks Day,’ we will be clearing the very last section of trail to complete our Interpretive Trail, which is an extension of the vast Pinhoti Trail. RSVP to let us know your coming and we will have tools ready. 706-695-2598. All activities are outdoor and weather permitting. Regular admission is required if not volunteering. Other activities may include trimming our roses and hedges for winter, weeding small garden beds, and putting down our Three Sisters Garden for winter. Bring water, sun protection, closed-toed shoes, bug-spray. Staff can supply gloves and tools, but if you have a favorite pair of clippers, bring them along! Stay as long as you like, any help is worth its weight in gold! help us keep our landscape beautiful and fun for guests. To ensure your visit is a fantastic experience, staff and members of Friends of the Vann House will be available through the historic home and grounds to answer your questions.
