Paddle and Hike to the Cemetery

Are you curious about the residents that lived here before Hard labor Creek became a state park? Join us for a ranger-led cemetery paddle and hike on a secluded section of the park. Please meet at the beach area. Bring closed toed shoes, water, sunscreen, and bug spray. Register in advance.

One and a half to two hours of a paddle and a hike. First, we will enjoy a paddle around lake Rutledge. Then, once we reach the trail, we will hike to to the cemetery. After we visit the cemetery, we will hike and paddle back to the beach area. Suitable for ages 8 and older. Please bring water, bug spray, and a change of clothes (optional). Wear closed-toe shoes. The beach area IS NOT located near the visitors center. Click on the link below for directions to the location. Pay for parking passes ($5) at the collection box at the beach parking area (cash only).
