Status: Archived Join Joshua, ranger and veteran birder of 25 years as he counts birds for the GBBC. We will search along our fields, stream and the edges of our woodland area. Moderate level hike. Bring your own binoculars and water. Be a citizen scientist for a day and help ornithologists track bird populations. Free admission, beginners and families welcome.
This event is free to all who wish to participate. Vann House not included, admission is required for a tour of the historic Vann House.
Each checklist submitted during the GBBC helps researchers at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society learn more about how birds are doing, and how to protect them and the environment we share. Last year, more than 160,000 participants submitted their bird observations online, creating the largest instantaneous snapshot of global bird populations ever recorded.
