Status: Archived What is Don Carter State Park’s Geology? Come join us at 2pm to find out. Author and Geologist Dr. William Witherspoon will be here to talk about the geology of the area and Lake Lanier. He is co-author of the Roadside Geology of Georgia. At 2pm he will be giving a presentation about the area’s geology.
This is a moderate hike good for ages 8 and up.

Located northeast of Gainesville, on the north side of the lake. From Clarks Bridge Road, go south on N. Browning Bridge Road. At the “Y,” take the left fork and continue for one-half mile to the park entrance.
