Primitive Arts DIY Class: Cord Crafting

Saturday, Oct 24, 2020 (9 AM to 12 PM)

In this class you will learn how to create cordage (rope) from plant and animal fibers. An important skill for wilderness survival. You’ll leave with your own cordage, as well as materials to continue the fun at home. This class is open to ages 13+ with an adult guardian present for youth 17 and under. Limited spots available, call to pre-register.

In tribal times, the ability to craft rope could mean the difference between starvation or survival. In this class you will learn how to create cordage, or string, from plant and animal fibers. We will be using yucca leaves, dogbane stalks and whatever else is handy. Primitive skills artist and educator Andrew Lee leads this 3-hour class.

Minors 17 and under will require an adult present on site for this program.

Admission to Vann House not included in program fee. Learn more about Andrew Lee from his website https://www.theprimitivearts.com/ or visit him on Facebook at The Primitive Arts.
