This event has already occurred.

Status: Archived
Tricentennial Speaker Series #12: We are joined by author, Larry E. Ivers, who will present the importance of the fort's history in the once Spanish province of Guale. Discover how the British occupation lead to the creation of the Georgia colony.

Fort King George is turning 300! To celebrate, we are hosting guest lecturers each month and discussing the fascinating history of our site and town. Larry E. Ivers is a retired army veteran and author of many southern colonial military books. These lectures will be available online for free via Zoom and Facebook Live. This project is supported by Georgia Humanities, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, through funding from the Georgia General Assembly.
