Friends of Smithgall Woods Meeting

Friends meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at the Education Cabin, which is located on the opposite end of the park from the Visitor’s Center. GPS will not work to find it, therefore directions are listed below. From Helen/Sautee: From the Intersection of Highway 17 and 75 at the Indian Mound -Go south on Hwy. 75 (Helen Hwy.) for 1.5 miles -Turn right on Joe Franklin Road -Go ½ mile and drive through park gate -Follow signs to Education Cabin From Cleveland: From the Intersection of 129 and 75 at Ingles -Go 5.1 miles north on Hwy. 75 (Helen Hwy.) -Turn left on Joe Franklin Road -Go ½ mile and drive through park gate -Follow signs to Education Cabin *** Joe Franklin Rd is a small graveled road with NO park sign marking it.
