Status: Archived Indigo crops accounted for 1/3 of the low country exports prior to the invention of synthetic dyes. Come learn about the history of natural indigo dye and try a few basic Japanese binding techniques known as shibori. We will be dyeing cloth napkins, guests can also bring small specialty items, such as scarves, t-shirts, must be 100% cotton.
Indigo dye will permanently discolor clothes, please bring a smock, apron, or where appropriate clothing.
