Hands-on Colonial Craft Series

This event has already occurred.

Status: Archived
Join our rangers for a unique experience as we provide hands-on colonial crafting courses. Every class you will help you develop new skills and leave you with a one-of-a-kind memento. Each week will cover a different craft so feel free to sign up for any one or all of them but pre-registration is required and space is extremely limited.

Jan 5th: Blacksmithing- Learn some of the history and legends surrounding the smithy and then get a chance to make the anvil sing your own song.
Jan 12th: Fire starting- For the majority of human existence, nothing was more essential to survival than the ability to start a fire. Our rangers will teach you the tricks to tease a spark from a flint and steel and nurture it into a full cook fire.
Jan 19th: Spinning- While we southerners may we well known for our ability to "spin a yarn", most people today have never had the chance to take raw wool and turn it into a usable thread. Our rangers want to fix this and teach you that there is more than one way to go from sheep to shirt.
Jan 26th: Woodcrafting- In a world that is overrun with cheap plastic stuff, let our rangers introduce you to the world of creating quality wooden goods.
