Status: Archived Tricentennial Speaker Series #11:
We are joined by a previous site manager, Ken Akins, who will present on the individuals, events, and research responsible for the reconstruction of Fort King George along Georgia's coast here in Darien.
Fort King George is turning 300! To celebrate, we are hosting guest lecturers each month and discussing the fascinating history of our site and town. Ken Akins is a retired manager and archaeological program coordinator from many Georgia DNR parks & historic sites. Using original 1700's records and drawings, Mr. Akins directed the reconstruction of Fort King George.
These lectures will be available online for free via Zoom and Facebook Live.
