Fees and Amenities
All group gatherings by outside groups must take place after 5 p.m. Minimal set up prior to event will be allowed, but must not interfere with day visitor operations. Please call the site to coordinate advanced set-up details.
Cost is $500 for 4-hour event for up to 100 individuals. Each additional individual over the 100 will incur a $5 charge per person. A deposit of $100 is required to reserve the fort for any gathering. This deposit will not be applied toward the fees, and will be refunded if damage and clean-up terms are met. Cancellations must be made at least two weeks before the event for a full refund.
Amenities
Full access to fort, fort buildings, museum bathrooms, electricity, water tank, and 1 six passenger golf cart to be operated by adult only.

Colonial Reception/Dinner
Available for non-wedding gathering and does not have to have a colonial theme. The basic $500+ fee will be waived if the group provides at least 50 individuals for the colonial reception/dinner and coordinates it through the site friends group, The Garrison of Fort King George. The fee will not be waived if an outside caterer is employed.
Responsibilities
Customer responsibilities: Set up, clean up, and parking. All furnishings in the fort must be returned to their assigned places. Also, customers must rent additional tables, chairs, dining wares, tents, etc. if those provided at fort are not suitable or enough in quantity. Fort Personnel responsibilities: All events must be supervised by at least one DNR parks employee. The entire site will be treated for bugs prior to all events; however, we cannot assure a complete bug-free environment. A fee of $100 per hour will be applied if fort personnel are involved in set-up, clean-up or parking in any way.
Wedding Rehearsal
No additional charge for a wedding rehearsal the day before the ceremony will apply if:
- The rehearsal lasts one hour or less;
- The rehearsal involves only the wedding party, officiates and parents. In any other case, a $100 fee will apply for rehearsal over one hour and up to (but not over) two hours.
Event staff will be present during your rehearsal to answer questions, but do not assist in wedding coordination. Please make any necessary arrangements in order to facilitate the flow of your rehearsal.
In the event you may choose to have your reception catered through the site’s friends group or to have a cannon firing, our site staff will assist with food service and artillery, but is only responsible for those services as they apply to your wedding. However, site staff is not responsible for any other wedding details, coordination, set-up, or outcome.
Birthday Parties
Fees and Amenities
- Invite up to 12 of your friends — $225
- Additional friends beyond 12 count — $5 each
- 2 hours full access to fort and buildings
- Living history soldier demo with colonial toys and games (one musket firing will be provided)
- One craft provided (candy musket cartridge)
- Toy muskets will be issued to each child (to be returned at end)
- Napkins, plates, forks, and invitations are provided
- A special prize for the birthday child
- Cannon firing available for extra fee — $50
- Custom fort cake available for extra fee — $25
- Colonial toys and games will be played with colonial soldier

Group Primitive Campouts

On the Bluff
$15 per head and includes access to museum bathrooms, one nighttime walk down to the fort for 30 minutes, and campout on bluff
At the Fort
$20 per head, plus $200 refundable damage deposit, and includes access to soldiers barracks fort grounds and blockhouse. Due to sensitive displays, officers’ barracks, and guardhouse will be locked. (Deductions to damage deposit will occur for any broken items, time spent by staff re-positioning items, spilled drinks on floors or other building surfaces, etc.)
Soldier Life Talk
$5 per individual in addition to individual camping rate
Canoe Trip
$20.00 per person in addition to individual camping rate
