The Return of the Longleaf Pine Tree

Pickett's Mill Battlefield Historic Site - Dallas, GA
This program will be one of four 2025 programs that will feature protected species at Pickett's Mill Battlefield. Come out and learn about one of our heritage trees, the Longleaf Pine, and participate in actual tree planting with a ranger-led discovery hike. Volunteer Work Day

We are having a volunteer workday to prepare for our annual prescribed burns. We will be working along the large wheat field and along the yellow trail. Admission is free for volunteers. There will be tasks for all ages and abilities. Free for Volunteers $5 parking. 770-443-7850.

Flowers On The Brink Hike

Stewards of Pickett's Mill Creek Hike

Pickett's Mill Battlefield Historic Site - Dallas, GA
This will be a guided, ranger-led hike on a 1/4 mile shallow section of Pickett's Mill Creek. We will hike, do a macroinvertebrate round-up, and pick up trash along the way. Our goal will be to determine the health of the creek, discover a living ecosystem, and leave it cleaner for the future. Free admission for participants with preregistration. 770-443-7850.
