New Echota is presenting a brand-new program series discussing prominent veterans of the Cherokee Tribe. The first installment will be discussing Cherokee veterans from pre-revolutionary history to the Creek War. Come learn how the Cherokee have contributed to the United State military through history. Hold the sauce, this is not the BBQ you grew up with. Join our Ranger in the middle-class cabin to learn how the Cherokee would dry meat over the fire to preserve for future use. Rangers will be at the middle class homestead located behind the visitor center demonstrating games from the 1800s as well as traditional Cherokee games. Admission fee required. Bring your Girl Scouts out for a day of learning and adventure. Join the rangers for guided tours at 10am and 1pm. The print shop will be open giving demonstrations throughout the day and visitors can make a souvenir page of paper, 1830's style. Self-guided tour option available throughout the day also.
