Enjoy an autumn evening soiree with music, a hard cider tasting, hors d’oeuvres, and a special guest lecture as we celebrate the restoration of heritage cider apples. You’ll also see an apple pressing demonstration, and even take away a souvenir cider glass from your host, Reece’s Cider Co. Pre-registration required by Oct 1st. Adults 21+ only.

We're happy to once again host this program with support of the Friends of the Vann House. During the tasting, you’ll enjoying live music from Matt Downer the ‘Old Time Traveler’ from Chattanooga. After the hard cider tasting, participants will be entertained with a guest lecture featuring Joshua Fuder, botanist and Resources Agent with the Cherokee County Extension Lab. Learn about the history of apple trees in American and what botanists are doing to preserve heritage apples. The tasting is hosted by Reece’s Cider Co., bringing participants a selection of hard ciders pressed from their own apples at B.J. Reece’s Apple House and Orchard in Ellijay, GA. Call 706-695-2598 to ask questions or pre-register for this program. This event is for adults aged 21 and over; state issued identification will be checked at the door. Reservations must be made by Sunday, October 1st. Reservations can be made by calling the Vann House Museum at 706-695-2598; payment will be accepted over the phone. Reservations can also be made in person at the Vann House Site. There is no rain date for this event, it will be held rain or shine.
