Wander through the woods as tiny lights twinkle around you, guiding your way under the starry sky. Join a Ranger, as we walk along a moderate to strenuous nature trail looking for firefly species and other night creatures. If we are lucky, we may see synchronous fireflies. Event suitable for ages 8 and up. Pre-registration begins May 1st.
Did you know that fireflies are natural indicators of healthy ecosystems? We'll talk about their importance in nature and what you can do to attract them to your back yard. Also, If skies allow, we'll test your knowledge about constellations. Limited spaces. One mile nature trail in a loop not suitable for strollers. Please bring a flashlight with red light, water and wear closed-toe shoes. Meeting location will be given once you pre-register. Please arrive 20 min early to fill out paperwork and use the bathrooms. Please be on time. Out of respect for other attendees, we will not wait for tardy attendees.
