Turkey has been a food eaten at this site for generations. It was one of the two large game animals hunted by the people who inhabited Etowah between 950 and 1550 AD. Today we eat turkey for many of our major holidays. Come out to Etowah and learn a few turkey facts while constructing your own turkey using pine cone and feathers.
