A Bridge to the Past - The History of Watson Mill Bridge

Join us to learn some of the fascinating history of Watson Mill Bridge, built in 1885 by well known African American bridge builder Washington W. King. We’ll take a tour through the longest covered bridge in Georgia, stop at the overlook where the old mill once stood and end at the power plant ruins.

We'll meet near the parking lot next to the bridge (across the street from Picnic Shelter #3)

Covered bridge has 9-foot maximum clearance. Equestrian campers need to use the park entrance off Highway 72 in Carlton, while traditional campers may use the park entrance off Highway 22 in Comer.
