Where there's Smoke there's Hope: Understanding Prescribed Fire

Sunday, Mar 23, 2025 (2 PM to 4:30 PM)

Smokey the Bear may have taught us that only you can prevent forest fires but here in Georgia we believe that good fires prevent bad fries and that pyrodiversity enkindles biodiversity. This difficult 3 mile hike will showcase Longleaf Pine, the forest built by fire.

Learn the role of a wildland fire fighter and how we preserve our natural plant communities here in Georgia.
