Do you love Sweetwater Creek State Park? Become an EcoA Steward! Meet twice a month during this 8 month long certification course, cultivate the knowledge & leadership skills to change your community. We're looking for 15-20 stewards for this program. To register please email adrian.fox@dnr.ga.gov
$100 for full course or $25 single class
Class 1: Intro to forest ecology, reading the forest and understanding niches
Class 2: Plant ID, recap reading the forest, invasive vs native vs naturalized vs aggressive species, ID Native Vines
Class 3: Learning your invasive removal tactics, leadership skill building to run volunteer groups to remove Japanese Chaff Flower.
Class 4: Forest Intelligence, edible and medicinal plants
Class 5: Grasslands an introduction to an imperiled ecosystem
Class 6: Tree ID, what goes where and why
Class 7: Evergreen Invasive and their removal strategies
Class 8: Winter tree ID, Final Exam, Steps to move forward as an EcoA Steward
