This traditional hands-on craft will feature a very special plant native to Panola Mountain, the Spoonleaf Yucca. Learn about the plant and create cordage bracelets out of the leaves. Pre-registration is required for this event as space is limited. This activity is designed for ages 10+. Meet at the Nature Center.
Sustainable harvest of yucca leaves to demonstrate traditional methods of harvesting fibers and how to use them to make twine - or in our case - bracelets. This activity will be a hands on event focusing on traditional crafts and plant identification.
