Historic Hunting: Atlatls

Saturday, Jan 17, 2026 (2 PM to 4 PM)

It's the most common tool you've never heard of: the spear-thrower, or atlatl! This lever device is not only the historic precursor to archery but is still used around the world today. At Etowah, hunters would have used the atlatl to target white-tailed deer and wild turkey. Join the rangers and try your hand with these traditional projectiles!
