Earth Day for Bird Nerds

Friday, Apr 24, 2026 (3 PM to 4 PM)

Ready your binoculars! A ranger will be present to lead anyone who wishes to explore the diverse bird species that call this site home. From bald eagles to song birds, wood peckers to cormorants--the Altamaha river has amazing sites and sounds for all to see.

This event requires no pre-registration. Visitors should arrive in adequate outdoor gear for an hour-long leisurely walk that will equal no more than a mile altogether. Binoculars are in minimum supply, so please feel free to bring your own.
