Creek Crawl for Salamanders

Embark on a fascinating journey into the natural world with us at Wild Turkey Trail creek, where we will be identifying the diverse salamanders inhabiting this vibrant ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to observe these remarkable amphibians in their aquatic habitat, enhancing your understanding of local wildlife and ecological balance.

To fully enjoy the adventure, please come prepared with water shoes and clothing that you don’t mind getting wet, as we will be wading through the creek to observe salamanders in their natural surroundings. Bringing a towel and an extra set of dry clothes is also highly recommended to ensure comfort after the excursion.

From I-85 North or South near Newnan, take Exit 47 Highway 34 (Bullsboro Boulevard). Go west 0.8 miles. Turn right onto Highway 34 Bypass (M. Farmer Industrial Road) at 4-way stop and go 8.2 miles. Turn right onto Thomas Powers Road and go 2.7 miles to a 4-way stop. The road name changes to Hewlett South Road. Continue straight 0.9 miles. Continue straight onto Bud Davis Road and go 1.9 miles. Turn right onto Flat Rock Road. The road name changes to Bobwhite Way. Continue straight to gated entrance of the park.
