Archaeology of the Revolution: Presented by Dr. Aaron Ellrich

Saturday, May 16, 2026 (10 AM to 11:30 AM)

Dr. Aaron Ellrich will explore the Revolutionary War in Georgia as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Focusing on the Southern Theater, this talk examines how the conflict unfolded across Georgia and the wider region.

Dr. Aaron Ellrich is an archaeologist at Coastal Georgia Historical Society. He oversees the CGHS Archaeology Lab located inside the World War II Home Front Museum on St. Simons Island. Drawing on historical and archaeological research, Dr. Ellrich will highlight how material evidence deepens our understanding of military strategy, wartime experiences, and the complicated return of Loyalists in the war’s aftermath.
