Join Catalyst Sports for an opportunity to learn about adaptive paddle equipment that helps make kayaking accessible to everyone. This event will provide an opportunity to experience using this equipment with trained volunteers while enjoying time on the water at Hard Labor Creek State Park’s, Lake Rutledge.
Limited space is available. Please call the park office to register (770-557-3001). The event will take place at the park’s beach area. Parking is available at the beach. Recommended arrival of 9:30am for event. Please ensure you meet all of the ACA Essential Eligibility Criteria prior to registering as a participant. ACA Essential Eligibility Criteria for Adaptive Kayaking - Paddler should be able to breathe independently (i.e., not require medical devices to sustain breathing) - Paddler can maintain sealed airway passages while under water - Paddler can hold head upright without neck / head support - Paddler can manage personal care independently or with assistance from a companion - Paddler can manage personal mobility independently or with a reasonable amount of assistance - Paddler can follow instructions and effectively communicate independently or with assistance from a companion
