State parks offer affordable packages in romantic settings, perfect for an intimate ceremony or large celebration. Our network of planning partners can alleviate any stresses. Need a few ideas to get you started? Indian Springs State Park features a historic stone pavilion where you can dance the night away. Crooked River State Park offers a wedding arbor beside its beautiful winding river. Black Rock Mountain and Cloudland Canyon have small overlooks where you can renew your vows. Fort King George Historic Site can even host an oyster roast for your reception.

Group Shelters

Group Shelters at Georgia State ParksBudget-friendly group shelters have tables and chairs for 50 to 250, restrooms, heat and air conditioning. Couples are welcome to use the large kitchens to arrange their own catering. Many group shelters also have large barbecue pits.

 

Reynolds Mansion on Sapelo Island

Reynolds Mansion on Sapelo IslandFor a small, intimate wedding, consider this historic plantation home set among the moss-draped oaks of Sapelo Island. It can accommodate 29 guests with 13 bedrooms and 11 baths, all brimming with turn-of-the century ambiance, architecture and art. The island has limited access by ferry only, providing complete privacy.

 

Smithgall Woods

Smithgall Woods State ParkThis mountain retreat is the perfect spot for a small, elegant ceremony. Couples can celebrate under tents in a grassy field or on a streamside deck. The park offers 17 bedrooms in six beautifully decorated cottages. Some have porches along a trophy-trout stream, while others have private hot tubs.

 

Suwannee River Eco-Lodge

Suwannee River Eco-Lodge at Stephen C. Foster State ParkJust 18 miles from the famed Okefenokee Swamp, this secluded lodge is made up of eight cottages with 12 bedrooms (max 40 guests). A conference room, smaller meeting room, BBQ shelter and commercial kitchen are included. Additional accommodations and activities can be found 18 miles away at Stephen C. Foster State Park.

Event coordinators and catering staff will work with you to create a one-of-a-kind ceremony or reception. Guests can stay in lodge rooms or cabins, without ever having to leave the celebration. Some couples choose to get married outside, surrounded by natural beauty, then move inside for a traditional reception.
