General Coffee State Park will be hosting the Flatwoods Fishing Derby. All participants must pre-register at the main office before the event. Registration opens 4/14/25 closes 4/18/25 at 4 PM. Children under the age of 16 are free to enter, all other participants must pay $5 for entry. Fishing is limited to the farm pond ONLY. $5 for 16 and older, under 16 years of age no entry fee required $5 parking. 912-384-7082.

This year marks 160 years since the end of the American Civil War. While men folk were off to the war, women, children, and the elderly were fighting their own back home. Join us as our interpretive staff along with other living historians tell the stories of life on the home front in the Wiregrass region of Georgia at the close of the war. Pieces will be on temporary display for a limited time, and awards will be given for best in show, oldest piece, and rattiest in show!
