Cherokee Capital First Day Hike 2027

Kick off 2027 with a tour and hands-on activities at the 1820's Cherokee Nation Capital of New Echota.

Step into the New Year by walking into the past. Join Rangers on a guided tour of the historic capital of the Cherokee Nation to learn about the history and culture of the Cherokee people and the Trail of Tears. 
Try your hand at early 19th century skills including making fire with flint and steel, and making paper, blowgun darts and corn husk dolls.
Snacks and hot beverages will be provided at the conclusion of the tour.
