Cherokee Voices in Print

Join our rangers as they explore early 19th century printing on the 198th anniversary of the first Native American newspaper. Celebrate this Monumental Moment in both Georgia and Cherokee history. March 3rd was a day that rang out in Cherokee history. Join our Rangers in the reconstructed Council House to learn about the Supreme Court case that changed history for both the United States and the Cherokee people. Court case demonstrations will also take place so visitors can learn how the Cherokee Nation emulated the U.S. Judicial Branch. $6-$8. 706-624-1321.

Veterans of the Cherokee Tribe

New Echota is presenting a brand-new program series discussing prominent veterans of the Cherokee Tribe. The first installment will be discussing Cherokee veterans from pre-revolutionary history to the Creek War. Come learn how the Cherokee have contributed to the United State military through history.
