Join our Rangers to learn how to read a compass. The program will start in the picnic area and transverse throughout the grounds of New Echota. The Ranger will teach you the skills to follow a preset course using just a compass. Admission fee required. Join the Rangers and Friends of New Echota volunteers as we start the new year with a glimpse into the past. Learn about Cherokee history and enjoy our Ranger guided nature trail walk. Rangers will lead a guided hike on New Town Creek Trail and through the historic Cherokee Capital of New Echota. 1.5-2 miles long, easy to moderate. $6-$8. 706-624-1321.

Bring your Girl Scouts out for a day of learning and adventure. Join the rangers for guided tours at 10am and 1pm. The print shop will be open giving demonstrations throughout the day and visitors can make a souvenir page of paper, 1830's style. Self-guided tour option available throughout the day also
