Walk With a Ranger

Come meet our naturalist on a leisurely, 2-3 mile stroll through our bird sanctuary around the Wilkins Greenway Trail. We'll head out from the Visitor Center to find a forest habitat teeming with songbirds, and we may even spot a beaver! This event is stroller & pet-friendly. Every Sunday 9 AM & 11 AM. Heritage Farm Tour

Bushcraft Bootcamp: Yucca Cordage Demo

Before you could get fishing line and nylon rope from the store, people had to make their own cordage from natural materials found in the woods. One of the materials used was yucca leaves. By the porch of the Park Office, a ranger will be doing a demonstration on how to make natural rope from yucca. You'll learn, it's not as easy as it looks! $5 parking. 706-557-3001.
